  1.      Due to the number of requests from sysop's on "how" to set up
  2. THD ProScan to work with their BBS programs, I am including this explanation 
  3. for setup in RA 2.00 (gamma 1), Telegard 2.7 and for T.A.G. 2.6c.
  4.      Although it works equally well with other BBS programs, These are the 
  5. only programs which I can supply any assistance with.
  6.      But first a multi-purpose batch file for those wishing to test numerous 
  7. files in a single directory.

  9.                            GENERAL PURPOSE BATCH FILE
  10.                            --------------------------
  11.                            (See THDTERM3.ZIP as well)
  12. DIRTEST.BAT
  13. -----------
  14. @ECHO OFF
  15. CTTY CON
  16. FOR %%F IN (%1\*.*) DO C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE %%F

  19. This will cause all files in the supplied directory to be tested. However, 
  20. be warned that only the errorlevel from the last file tested will be 
  21. returned to the calling program.
  22. Syntax for this batch file would be C:\THDPRO\DIRTEST.BAT C:\TEST
  23. where DIRTEST.BAT is located in "C:\THDPRO" and "C:\TEST" is the directory 
  24. containing the files to be tested.

  28.      Lets start from scratch..
  29. make a dir called C:\THDPRO
  30. change to that directory.
  31. unzip THDpro-7 into that directory (or unarj, whatever).
  32. run THDINSTL.EXE
  33. answer all the questions and double check the settings on the final
  34.    screens as if your life depended on it's being correct.
  35. change to your BBS directory.
  36. type TELEGARD -K
  37. press "P"
  38. press "F"
  39. look at option "L".. make note of the path here
  40. shell to dos.
  41. go to the directory just seen in option "L".
  42. copy THDPRO.EXE from C:\THDPRO\ to this directory.
  43. return to TG (exit shell).
  44. press "A"
  45. press "M"
  46. press "1" (which I assume will correspond to the "ZIP" archive type)
  47. check the first option to be sure it is marked "ACTIVE" (if not mark it
  48.      active).
  49. change line "#6" to read "THDPRO.EXE @F"
  50. Press "Q" until you are back at the "WFC" screen and from their do a local
  51.      logon.
  52. Once logged on.. Go to the file section and list the files long enough to
  53.      find the name of a single valid "zip" file.
  54. now type at the menu prompt "//\\AT"
  55. enter the name of the "zip" filename you just found using "list"
  56. answer no to delete files question.. and No to search all dirs question.
  57. watch the output on your side to see if the file is being scanned.
  58.  
  59.      The ONLY reason that this process (if followed EXACTLY) would not 
  60. work.. is because you have no directory listed under option "L" (as above). 
  61. IF you do not have a directory specified there, then change the "line #6" 
  62. mentioned above to include the full path "C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE @F".. DO NOT 
  63. enter this if there is a path in option "L" or the archive tester will not 
  64. be found.
  65.      Also.. you might wish to test it from the command line as follows to be 
  66. sure that it works.
  67. type
  68. C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE C:\COMMAND.COM
  69.      This will show you the scanner at work and if you do not see this type
  70. of screen when run from TG.. then you have failed in configuring TG NOT the 
  71. fault of the scanner.
  72.      This is FAR more detailed than I had ever hoped to have to get. Any TG 
  73. sysop should be able to accomplish this without such detail.. BUT given that 
  74. you may never have had to do this before.. Follow the instructions 
  75. EXACTLY!!!!

  77.                                   T.A.G. 2.6c

  80.      T.A.G. is very simple to set up. T.A.G. simply runs a file called
  81. "FILETEST.BAT" (found in the main BBS directory). So to set up T.A.G. you 
  82. need only make your FILETEST.BAT read as follows...

  87. C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE %1%2.%3 {optional comport #}
  88.  
  89. This will cause all uploaded files to be tested by THDPRO.EXE in the 
  90. directory "C:\THDPRO". The "optional comport #" is for use with systems 
  91. running multi-nodes where the output is to be sent to a comport other than 
  92. the one configured directly into the program. This parameter is to be ONLY a 
  93. single digit between 0 and 8.

  99. Unarchive THDPRO-7.* in it's own directory.
  100. Run "THDINSTL.EXE /NOMOVE"
  101.      Be sure to include the "nomove" parameter so that THD ProScan will
  102. not move or rename files which fail its various tests (This applies only to 
  103. THD ProScan Version 6 and later). Insert all necessary information as 
  104. prompted by THDINSTL.EXE. If the need arises to reconfigure THDPRO.EXE be 
  105. sure to use the "NOMOVE" parameter each and every time THDINSTL is run or 
  106. the move action will be made active again.
  107.      Note also that THDINSTL will still require input for a "Failed 
  108. directory" but no files will be moved when THDPRO.EXE is actually run.

  110.     Setting up Raconfig:

  112. Run raconfig and select the following menu options:
  113.  
  114. 1/  System
  115. 2/  Files
  116.

  118. The following is an example of how to fill in the upload scanning section...
  119.  
  120. Scan online  Yes
  121. Failed scan  /unavailable/move to 998
  122. Scan utility C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE @ *P *M
  123.  
  124. Scan Online is set to yes to allow the user to see straight away
  125. if there are any problems with his upload.
  126.  
  127. Failed scan action is set to  mark the file as unavailable and move it
  128. to file area 998 (an area previously decided to be a badfiles area).

  130. Scan utility runs C:\THDPRO\THDPRO.EXE with following parameters:

  132. @  path and filename of file to be tested
  133. *P com port in use
  134. *M swap RA out of memory to give THD ProScan as much room as possible.
